DN is a Board-Certified Sports Specialist, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Womens Fitness Specialization (WFS) accredited by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, Certified Prenatal Yoga Teacher, VDOT O2 Certified Distance Coach, USATF Level 1 Coach, and the founder of Refined Rehab Physical Therapy in Westport, CT. A devoted mother of three, wife, elite athlete, and highly sought-after clinician, Dr. Wiedman brings a unique combination of empathy, experience, and performance-driven care to her patients.

After graduating with honors from Columbia University’s School of Physical Therapy in 2008, Allison began her clinical career with a focus on orthopedic, sports, women’s and pelvic health rehabilitation. She launched her private practice—originally known as Race to Recover Physical Therapy—to help others return to the activities they love, pain-free and stronger than before. That practice has since evolved into Refined Rehab Physical Therapy, where she now treats a diverse client base including recreational athletes, elite and professional competitors, office workers, new moms and dads, and pre/post-operative patients.

Dr. Wiedman also serves as Head Coach for Wilton’s Indoor and Outdoor Track Teams and as Assistant Coach for the Wilton High School Girls Cross Country Team, mentoring youth athletes with the same dedication and compassion she brings to her clinic.

A lifelong athlete, Allison began running competitively at the age of 10 and earned a full scholarship to Florida State University, where she achieved All-American honors in cross country and indoor track for the 5K. Her competitive spirit didn’t end there—she’s completed and was a top finisher in dozens of Olympic-distance and half Ironman triathlons, half marathons, marathons, and has twice qualified for and competed in the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. She holds a marathon personal best of 2:52 and a half marathon best of 1:20, both achieved as a masters athlete.

She earned her Board Certification in Sports Physical Therapy in 2013 and holds advanced training in Dry Needling, Women’s and Pelvic Health (Herman & Wallace & EIM), Active Release Therapy (Lower Extremity), Graston Technique, Cupping Therapy, Kinesio Taping, ART, and Blood Flow Restriction (BFR). Allison approaches every patient with warmth, deep clinical insight, and a unique personal understanding of the physical and emotional demands of training and recovery. Her expertise across orthopedics, sports, women’s and pelvic health makes her one of the most respected physical therapists in the tri-state area.

When she’s not training for her next race, treating patients, or coaching athletes, Allison enjoys hiking, skiing, puzzles, arts & crafts, and spending time outdoors with her family.
